Finally! After several months of reapplying and getting rejected multiple times (more than 30 times perhaps), I was finally approved for Google Adsense monetization.
Having received an email from Google Adsense with the subject line "Your site is now ready to serve ads" is one of the happiest moment a blogger like me would always cherish.
The moment that I received an email from Google Adsense congratulating me because my site is now eligible for monetization was one of the happiest moments in my life.
Call me crazy or OA but that's exactly what I feel.
That night, I shed some tears of joy because finally, my blog was accepted by Google Adsense to their monetization program.
I couldn't express any physical joy that time except a smile from my lips because after all the hardworks, patience, sleepless nights, research, and never-ending-like layout changing and website coding that I exerted, those things came worthy.
To be honest, I've written more than 30 posts in my blog and applied for Google Adsense and before being accepted, I've gone through a lot of rejections stating the same feedback.
I even downloaded and installed many themes in my blog already, experimented layouts, but the feedback was still the same.
I also shared my blog posts on my social media accounts and pages just to gain traffic so that Google would validate that my site is visible.
I've even created legal pages so that my site would look professional and legal but I still got rejected.
And believe me, there were many times that I was discouraged to pursue blogging.
I read on forum groups and sites that getting Adsense approval these days is difficult or impossible especially in the midst of pandemic, but that didn't hinder me not to give up.
I've read a lot of posts on how to get Adsense approval, but some of their articles were very generic and not detailed.
Some said that there's a trick to get Adsense approved while some said that there's no trick at all, but is a matter of quality contents.
I almost went to a point of just starting a new blog, migrating my posts to a new one, or even transferring the blog to a new email but none of this tricks worked as some bloggers shared.
And the funny thing is that I almost hire a fellow writer to write contents for my blog which in fact I can do it in my own. Good thing I've changed my mind.
So the quest for AdSense approval continued. I've watched a lot of videos and browse Facebook posts regarding their Adsense approval experience and finally went to a very helpful and insightful conclusion.
I've realized what if I should just focus on my content instead of prioritizing monetization approval, because in the first place, I made this blog not just to earn money but to help others through my tips, says, guides, and insights. May be the problem is in the content and not just on how my site looks like.
And finally after a minor editing, paraphrasing, and proofreading my posts, creating legal pages, fixing my blog's layout and theme, and paying attention on the technical aspects, my blog was finally accepted to Google Adsense.
Here's exactly the email that I've received from Google Adsense:

10. Don't stop creating contents while site is in review.
11. Don't change anything in your blog's theme/pages.
12. Relax and trust your luck.
1. Choose your blog niche.
First and foremost, you need to decide what your blog's topic is all about. You have to make wise decisions in choosing your blog's niche.
Try to stick with high earning niches like finance, travel, food, sports, lifestyle, etc.
If you're having a hard time in choosing your topic, you can just stick with your own personalized niche. Just capture the interest of your target readers.
But then, it all depends on how you attack a blog topic and its angle.
2. Buy custom domain and domain hosting.
Your blog won't go live if you'll not buy your own custom domain and domain hosting.
No matter how good your blog articles are, but if your blog isn't live yet, it won't be read by your audience.
Don't know what domain and hosting is?
Domain is the URL address of your blog. Think of it like your house. It's the place your relatives or friends go to when visiting you.
Hosting is the technical side of your blog which stores all the information you upload from your blog.
Even if you bought custom domain but not hosting, your site won't be visible.
Think of domain as your house and domain as the lot.
Your house won't be built if there's no lot.
Likewise with your domain, your blog won't be live without domain hosting.
Where to buy your own custom domain and hosting?
There are lots of websites which sell domain and hosting.
The most popular and affordable platforms to buy domain and hosting are Namecheap and GoDaddy, while Bluehost and Hostgator for hosting alone.
But if you want to save money on purchasing domain and hosting, I suggest you to buy each separately from different providers.
My blog's domain was bought from GoDaddy for only less than $3 and I got free domain hosting by connecting it to Blogger/Blogspot because I use it as my blogging platform.
Here's a helpful read on why I use Blogger/Blogspot as my blogging platform: Top 5 Reasons Why I Use Blogger Blogspot as My Blogging Platform
It is actually good for budget-savvy persons since you no longer have to buy domain hosting since Blogger by Google hosts your blog domain for free.
When buying your custom domain, make sure that the domain name is the same with your blog title so that it would be easy to remember.
Most of all, self-hosted managed WordPress site using WordPress.org is much better since you have full admin access and control of your own blog.
Keep in mind that there is an age requirement in order for your blog to be qualified to Google Adsense.
For Blogger/Blogspot users who don't have a top-level domain and are using hosted domain only, your site should be six months of age or more when signing up for AdSense especially if you're from Asian countries.
While for those who have top-level domain blogs, your site's age should be more than one month.
But I know a lot of people who are qualified to Google Adsense in just less than a month.
So, maybe there are still a lot or factors to be considered not just the site age requirement.
3. Create your own blog and connect your bought custom domain + hosting.
Of course, after buying your custom domain and hosting, the next steps are to set up your domain and hosting and your blog.
4. Install theme/template and design your blog.
When applying for AdSense approval, it is also important to take a note on how your blog looks. Therefore, one way of achieving a beautiful view for your blog is by installing themes or templates if you're not a coding-fancy or techy person.
Take a note that it doesn't mean that when your blog's theme is beautiful, doesn't mean it would always be user-friendly.
When having your blog's theme, it is essential to keep an eye of its mobile-optimized viewing capability and mobile-friendliness.
Most or the readers nowadays are browsing through their mobile phones so optimizing your blog site for mobile viewers is a key to your blog's success.
Ensure that your blog is easy to navigate, organized, and consistent in choice of colors.
You may also add a working back to top button for your blog.
To know how to install a working back-to-top button for your Blogger/Blogspot blog, you may read this guide.
If you don't have time for self-coding, you may just download themes from reliable sites such as Templateify.com and SoraTemplates.com.
They have many free and premium versions of their Blogger/Blogspot templates.
Having a free version of Blogger templates doesn't affect your Adsense approval.
However, if you really want to own your blog's theme, I suggest you to invest and buy premium themes since they have no hidden scripts and the footer credits are removable.
It is also important to keep your blog articles organized by putting a label list on your blog's menu so that readers won't have difficulties in searching for your posts' topics.
5. Create legal pages.
One of the most important factors to get Adsense approval is through creating legal pages- About, Contact, Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, Sitemaps, and Terms and Conditions.
Making legal pages helps your visitors know the information about your blog, how you collect cookies, what policies you enforce, and the rules that apply while visitors are browsing your blog.
Failure to comply with Google Adsense policies and legal pages creation would result to Google Adsense disapproval.
There are plenty of online tool that might help you generate legal pages for free. Feel free to check them out.
6. Make more than 20 high quality and unique posts.
When I had my Adsense approved, I only have 20 posts at that time. Some have more than 300 words while other posts have more than 1,000 words.
When writing your blog posts, write at least 300 words.
The average number of words of articles that rank on Search Results are 2,000 words.
But of course, ranking still depends on the structure and quality of the content.
Google Adsense team manually checks publisher sites to check if their contents are long and quality enough.
This is the most important part of your blog– the content which is the heart of your blog.
It is what your readers would look for. And if you don't have high quality posts, do you think advertisers will be showing ads to your blog?
The answers depends on the way you write.
So if you want to be approved by Google Adsense, make sure your posts are high quality, relevant, and long enough.
Try putting images inside your blog posts so that readers won't get bored reading your articles.
Put yourself in the shoes of your readers. Do you think you will read an an entire plain text article? I'm sure you wouldn't, right?
Use copyright-free images from sites that give free stock and royalty photos such as Pexels and Pixabays.
I also use Canva Pro to optimize images, create images, and download predesigned templates for my blog. Canva has a lot of features which is designed for beginners and time-savvy people.
And also, ensure that the links in your blog posts are all working when hyperlinking posts or pages.
Adsense won't approve you if you have broken links.
Don't put too much links or abusive links when writing your blog posts.
Also, don't forget to put Facebook open graph tags and Twitter meta cards to your blog. Doing this helps your blog to have a good display preview when shared on social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
It is a helpful step so that readers would have an idea of what your blog post is all about which tends to get more clicks when shared on social media platforms.
Don't forget to run plagiarism checks as well as Google Adsense hate plagiarism.
You won't get approved if you just copied someone else's works without their consent.
7. Perform SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

And of course, obviously, if you really want to monetize your contents, you should sign up for Google Adsense account.
Go to adsense.google.com to sign up for an Adsense account.
From there, you should have a gmail account and your blog when signing up.
While registering to Adsense, use your authentic name, phone number, and real address. Don't worry because you can change your payee details later.
After submitting your blog's URL, you will be given an Adsense code which you should paste inside your blog's page or theme between <head> and </head> tags.
If you have successfully pasted your snippet code to your site, you will receive a notification that your site is in review.
If you've already sign up before and got rejected, use the one you've created as Google Adsense only allows one account per person.
The review process usually takes less than a day up to two weeks.
My blog was approved after four days of reapplication.
9. Share your blog posts.
Share the good news to your friends!
With the help of social media in letting you drive traffic to your blog, social media account creation must be done.
Don't just depend on the organic traffic because it takes a lot of time for you to get it unless you're doing excellent in SEO.
With lots of people hooked in social media, sharing your blog posts across these platforms is a great strategy.
Try creating Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, Pinterest counterpart pages or even a YouTube video version of your blogs.
Do also note that these platforms must be utilized in a different posting strategy to gain wide reach.
When sharing your blog posts on Facebook, do it by sharing it to relevant or targeted groups, or tag your friends who are interested to read your articles.
You can also put relevant hashtags on your link sharing so that targeted audience might see it. This trick works for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
And also don't underestimate the power of pinning your photos on Pinterest because it is one of the great traffic driver to your blog when done properly.
Though traffic is not a requirement for Google Adsense approval, having such through the help of social media helps Google Adsense to analyze that your site has visits from different sources.
10. Don't stop creating contents while site is in review.
Consistency is one of the key!
Even if your site being reviewed, doesn't mean you would stop writing.
Google Adsense will immediately approve your site if they see that your posts are regularly updated.
This trick really worked for me, I swear.
Before getting approved, I first published a 300-word optimized article.
And right after an hour, I received an email from Google Adsense that my site was ready to show ads and start earning.
So if you want to get Adsense approval, you may try this strategy. Who knows, it might work for you, too?
Do this consistently.
Create posts at least 2 or 3 times a week.

Don't do this ever! If you do this, a 100% sure that you'll received a rejection email from Google.
Before signing up for an Adsense approval, make sure that your site is ready and no blank pages.
If you're applying for an Adsense approval while your site is still under construction or is undergoing changes, Google will immediately stop reviewing your blog.
This is because Google Adsense would conclude that your blog isn't ready and is still under the construction stage.
12. Relax and trust your luck.
And of course, after a long process of applying your blog for monetization, make some time for you to relax.
If you're confident that you did your best in trying to make sure blog good enough in the eyes of Google, have a rest too.
Just pray and be optimistic that you'll soon get accepted as well.
So those are the 12 details strategies on how to get Adsense approval for your blog.
If you get disapproved for a lot of times, don't quit. You just need to polish your blog.
Believe me, I've been applying for this approval since February this year but I was rejected more than 30 times already but I never did quit. But instead, I looked on the brighter side.
At last, after 4 days of reapplying this month, and making major changes to my blog before reapplying which I shared to this blog post, I was finally accepted.
And after five days of activating ads on my site, here's my earning so far from less than 200 down to less than 100 visits a day. I know it's just nothing compared to the earnings of bloggers out there, but for me, it is already a blessing.
My five-day earnings |
Who knows you might be the next?
Just keep on pushing and trying.
I've read some bloggers' testimonies out there and some of them were now successful. Some of them have even gone through a hundred rejections but they never did quit.
But if you feel that Google Adsense is not really for you, there are still lots of ad networks and ways that will help you make money through blogging.
It is getting difficult to get Adsense approval these days unlike before considering the number of applications everyday and since they do the review process manually.
And I am so thankful that I am one of the two million publishers accepted to their monetization program.
Imagine, I feel like I am not that good writer as I am. I even have mistakes in grammars, sentence structure, but maybe Google saw something unique with my writing style.
So don't give up even if you feel it's discouraging.
